California Ranch Traditional

The traditional California Ranch House has an open, free flowing floor plan, natural materials used in their natural state, and an overall air of informality and relaxed living.

In these kitches we create richness by combining a variety of materials and letting the materials play off of each other, contrasting and accentuating their qualities. The lines of the cabinetry are simple and the materials warm. The tile work provides geometric accents. A variety of countertops materials are chosen for their practical applications, as well as for how their aesthetic qualities.

In the following three kitchens we see several countertop materials, stone, recycled glass, Papercrete, and butcher block. In each case the choice of material not only responds to a direct, practical requirement but also adds to the harmonious effect of the whole.
