Moraga Home Addition
The owners of this Moraga home at one time lived in New England and missed the ambience of the historic colonial homes of that area. They wished to recapture some of that feeling while also doing some interior upgrades. The program included a small addition for a new laundry, a completely new kitchen within the existing space, and replacement of nearly all the interior finishes.
The new front porch, stonework, siding and windows brought the exterior in line with the New England spirit. The new entry hall is simply, but warmly detailed. The kitchen provides two separate work areas while also remaining open to the family room. For the new deck guardrail off the Master Bedroom we devised an economical approach that has a unique, custom feel and yet uses affordable materials. The guardrail uses a combination of cedar and copper plumbing pipe.
